OneBeacon Agri Division Acquired by QBE Insurance Group

Effective September 29th 2006 QBE Insurance Group announced that they finalized the acquisition of OneBeacon's Agri Division. QBE Agri is part of the QBE Insurance Group Limited which is based in Sydney, Australia. The company was founded over 120 years ago and is one of the top insurers and reinsurers worldwide. With operations in 41 countries, expected writing in 2006 should be over $8.5 billion in gross written premium worldwide and $4.5 billion in surplus.

QBE of the Americas, based in New York is one of three main operations centers within the QBE Group. Domestically, QBE Agri is based in Lenexa, Kansas.
